Amazing and dazzling piece

Incredible narrative structures very much in the shape of short stories, in the sense that you are placed in a huge world where you simply have to accept the situation you are in and get to meet the characters on the go rather than having them being introduced by an omniscient narrator. You are on the field with them, experiencing the warfare, and building connections.

(Does putting zero stars count as the worst score?)

This is sort of a review (and more) of the magic in the series. I wrote it after finishing the third book (Memories of Ice) because that's when a lot of my thoughts on it crystalized, but the review is only using stuff from this book.
