Krieg der Klone

It's a fun read, with Scalzi's humor hauling most of the weight. There are some interesting technological ideas, but there's not much philosophical depth. The characters are serviceable but not memorable.

A cozy military sci-fi. On the first hand this is a fun romp of geriatric boot camp with fun technological reveals. Fails in comparison to "The Forever War" for any confrontation with political and social impacts of the endless colonial war context. And introduces several maddeningly open-ended universal author escape hatches for the subsequent series.

It's a good and well written book, the only thing that really keeps me from getting hooked is an ultimate goal, there seems to be no end to this war and what follows is a never ending story.
This doesn't have to be the case, it is also a short book and as such could very well be just a build up to some ultimate goal to come in a sequel.

While the book sometimes lacks the depth I kind of like in sci-fi, it makes up for it with the characters and story. The writing is among the funniest I've ever read.

Dle predpokladu to ma spad. Nejedna se o uplne prvoplanovitou military akci, coz ocenuju. Nektery aspekty, jako napr rasa Consu vyvolava spoustu otazek. Slusnej otvirak do serie 75%.

Found as EN "boxed set" and read the trilogy (with The Ghost Brigades and The Last Colony) in less than a week (nights mainly). Many interesting ideas.

Kindle app said I'd not read it, so I started late on an evening when I was too tired for anything too hard. Enjoyable adventure
